Places to Visit in Seoul

The main attractions in Seoul can be seen in a couple of days. However, we gave ourselves additional time to go shopping and visit the different parts of Seoul. We stayed in Myeongdong so we were close to all the main attractions. It’s the perfect location to also go shopping and have different cuisine options.

Attractions close to each other:

Statue of Admiral Yi Sun Shin, Statue of King Sejong, Gwangwamun, Hyeongwonjeong Pavilion, Gyeonghoeru, Gyeongbokgung Palace, National Folk Museum of Korea, Yeolrin Songhyeon Park and the Blue House are all located in one area. The Bukchon Hanok Village is closest to these attractions.

Wongaksa Temple, Ikseondong Hanok Village, Cheonggyecheon, Jogyesa Temple, Insadong Street, and Myeongdong Church are all within 10-15 minutes apart from each other.

Located an hour away from Myeongdong, you can visit the Olympic Park, Lotte Tower, and Seoul Sky (observatory deck inside Lotte Tower).

Other locations to see in the area:

Seoul Tower, Dongdaemun Design Plaza (DDP), and Itaewon. These locations are not close to other attractions but definitely worth visiting.

Visiting the DMZ

Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to visit the DMZ. You can only go there with a tour guide and need to book in advance. The tour will take about a half day so plan accordingly.
